Effective Stock Control Procedures and Best Practices

Receiving and Inspecting New Arrivals

When new inventory arrives, a thorough process ensures accuracy and quality. The stock controller inspects each item for any damage and confirms the correct quantities.

Optimized Storage and Stock Rotation

Proper storage techniques play a crucial role in keeping inventory fresh and minimizing waste. Implementing the First-In, First-Out (FIFO) method guarantees that older stock is sold before newer arrivals, which is essential for perishable goods like food items.

Regular Audits and Inventory Reconciliation

Conducting consistent stock counts, whether through cycle counts or full inventory audits, helps identify discrepancies and missing items promptly.
