Sales Representative Duties and Responsibilities at Virgin Active
Are you a motivated sales professional looking to drive results and exceed targets? As a Sales Representative at Virgin Active, you’ll play a key role in expanding our customer base, boosting membership sales, and enhancing brand loyalty.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales Planning & Execution
- Strategically plan daily and monthly activities to generate new leads, book appointments, and close sales.
- Meet and exceed pre-defined sales targets by presenting Virgin Active’s offerings effectively.
- Overcome objections with support from the Sales Manager or Regional Sales Coach to secure sales.
2. Customer Engagement & Relationship Building
- Understand prospective members’ needs and interests, building rapport to match them with the right membership.
- Strengthen customer loyalty through follow-up calls, networking, and referrals.
- Act as a brand ambassador by attending and organizing promotions, health days, corporate events, and community initiatives.
3. Sales Reporting & Performance Analysis
- Accurately record sales activities using Virgin Active’s CRM tools and systems.
- Analyze sales data and statistics to refine strategies and improve performance.
- Report to the Sales Manager with insights, progress updates, and action plans.
4. Market & Product Knowledge
- Stay updated on Virgin Active’s products and how they compare to competitors.
- Share best practices in sales meetings to enhance team performance.
- Leverage local marketing opportunities to attract new members.
5. Compliance & Team Collaboration
- Follow Virgin Active’s sales processes and systems to ensure consistency.
- Work closely with the sales team to brainstorm new lead-generation ideas and sales-boosting strategies.

Essential Minimum Qualifications:
- A matriculation certificate is required, while a relevant tertiary qualification in Sales and Marketing is preferred.
- Candidates should possess at least two years of experience in the sales sector, along with demonstrated promotional and sales abilities to effectively market Virgin Active products and services.
- A proven history of sales success is necessary, as is the capability to plan daily activities for optimal results.
- The candidate must be adept at establishing and nurturing relationships with key clients and identifying new business opportunities.
- Proficiency in telephone communication and active listening is required, alongside excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Confidence, politeness, and awareness of industry trends are essential attributes.
- A customer-centric approach is mandatory, as is the ability to analyze market data for effective penetration strategies.
- Financial acumen is necessary, including experience in calculating sales ratios and understanding sales budgets.
- Adherence to company systems and processes is required, as well as exceptional skills in building client relationships across diverse customer demographics.
