This thrilling programme aims to provide you with the skills and knowledge necessary to effectively promote and sell Dis-Chem’s Cosmetics & Beauty products — all while delivering excellent and consistent customer service.

Minimum Requirements.

Essential

  • Matric /Grade 12.
  • Willing and able to work retail hours.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Advantage:

  • Prior experience in the beauty sector

Key Responsibilities.

Stock Control:

  • Ensure that the stock on the shelves has not surpassed sell-by dates.
  • Ensure that a full range of products is consistently available on the shelves.
  • Participate in departmental stock takes when requested.
  • Maintain the storeroom in an organized, neat, and tidy manner.
  • Notify management of low stock levels, out-of-stock items, damaged stock, and expired stock.
  • Facilitate regular stock rotation and comply with Dis-Chem stock control procedures.
  • Promptly identify and report damaged and expired items to a member of the store management team.
  • Ensure that boxes are flattened after unpacking stock and taken to the designated area.
  • Restock merchandise as necessary to maximize sales.

Merchandising:

  • Uphold a high standard of cleanliness; merchandising and displays should be consistently maintained in both the window area and throughout the store.
  • Present displays in an appealing manner.
  • Showcase products through makeovers, cosmetic demonstrations, spray promotions, or other activities.
  • Ensure all relevant goods are accurately priced and labeled.
  • Strive to meet sales targets for various vendors and brands within the Cosmetics Department.
  • Follow stock layout principles diligently.
  • Merchandising displays in the cosmetics section must be faced up and fully stocked.
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of stock as necessary.
  • Report any price discrepancies to management.

Customer Service:

  • Provide friendly, helpful, and courteous assistance and advice to all customers.
  • Process payments at the Cosmetics Department Point of Sale (POS).
  • Offer advice to customers without pressuring them to switch their preferred brand.
  • Address and resolve all customer stock inquiries.
