Job Description.

Become a part of the Dis-Chem Pharmacies Cosmetics Retail Learnership, which is set to commence in branches throughout South Africa. This thrilling program aims to provide you with the skills and knowledge necessary to successfully promote and sell Dis-Chem’s Cosmetics & Beauty products — all while delivering outstanding and consistent customer service.

Minimum Requirements…

Essential:
  • Matric /Grade 12.
  • Willing and able to work retail hours.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Advantage:
  • Prior experience in the beauty industry.

Key Responsibilities.

Stock Control:
  • Ensure that the stock on the shelves has not surpassed sell-by dates.
  • Ensure that a complete range of products is available on the shelves at all times.
  • Participate in departmental stock takes when requested.
  • Maintain the storeroom in an organized, neat, and tidy manner.
  • Notify management of low stock levels, out-of-stock items, damaged stock, and expired stock.
  • Facilitate regular stock rotation and comply with Dis-Chem stock control procedures.
  • Immediately identify and report any damaged or expired items to a member of the store management team.
  • Ensure that boxes are flattened after unpacking stock and taken to the designated area.
  • Restock merchandise as necessary to maximize sales.
Merchandising:
  • Uphold a high standard of cleanliness; merchandising and displays must be maintained in both the window area and throughout the store.
  • Present displays in an appealing manner.
  • Demonstrate products through makeovers, cosmetic demonstrations, spray promotions, or other activities.
  • Correctly price and label all relevant items.
  • Work towards achieving sales targets for various vendors and brands within the Cosmetics Department.
  • Adhere to stock layout principles.
  • Merchandising displays in the cosmetics area must be faced up and fully stocked.
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of stock when necessary.
  • Report any price discrepancies to management.
Customer Service:
  • To offer friendly, helpful, and courteous support and guidance to all customers.
  • Process transactions at a Cosmetics Department Point of Sales (POS).
  • Provide recommendations to customers without pressuring them to switch their preferred brand.
  • All inquiries regarding customer stock must be addressed and resolved.

  • Familiarity with promotions, personal selling, sales objectives, and customer relationship management.
  • Proficient in English – able to read, write, and speak effectively.
