Role Purpose:

Key Requirements:
- Education: Grade 12 / Matric
- Experience: At least 6 months of experience in cashier or till operations
- Skills:
- Computer literacy, particularly with MS Office

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver Outstanding Customer Service: Follow Dis-Chem’s customer service policies to create positive experiences and build professional relationships with customers.
- Handle Customer Feedback: Report any customer complaints or compliments to the Frontline Supervisor or store management promptly.
- Meet Turnover Targets: Adhere to the designated customer turnover hourly rate to meet sales goals.
- Stay Informed: Keep up-to-date with current sales, promotions, and product offerings to assist customers effectively.
- Promote Safety: Ensure the safety of both colleagues and customers by minimizing risks and following store safety protocols.
- Communicate Effectively: Implement Dis-Chem’s 5-star communication principles to maintain clear and effective communication.
- Manage Financial Transactions: Oversee cash flow, process all types of payments, and handle customer exchanges and returns with proper authorization.
- Ensure Transaction Accuracy: Get all line voids and price changes approved and signed off by the supervisor and process loyalty cards from our partner programs (Discovery Health Care, Medihelp Lifestage, Momentum Multiply, Legacy Lifestyle, ABSA Rewards, and eBucks).
- Secure Cash Handling: Securely place cash in the drop safe as per Dis-Chem’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safeguard your register credentials by updating them regularly.
- Maintain Tight Inventory Control: Verify that all outgoing stock/items/scripts are scanned and paid for, and keep all money securely inside the till.
- Confidentiality and Security: Handle daily takings with confidentiality and report any suspicious behavior to management.
- Resolve Merchandise Queries: Address customer inquiries regarding store merchandise accurately and efficiently.
- Follow Security Protocols: Adhere to Dis-Chem’s security policies and procedures to ensure a safe shopping environment.
