JOB DESCRIPTION:

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a qualified Cashier for their location in Cape Gate. The role involves providing exceptional customer service at the point of sale to ensure a premier shopping experience. Responsibilities include accurately recording customer transactions using the Dis-Chem operating system in accordance with company policies and standard operating procedures, with a strict emphasis on accuracy and the prevention of fraud.

Requirements:

Grade 12 / Matric
At least 6 months of experience in cashier or till operations
Proficient in computer use, particularly MS Office
Strong numerical abilities
Excellent command of the English language
Basic customer service skills
Availability to work retail hours

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS.

Comply with Dis-Chem’s customer service guidelines and protocols.
Develop a professional rapport with customers.
Communicate customer feedback, both complaints and compliments, to the Frontline Supervisor or store management.
Maintain awareness of the customer turnover rate on an hourly basis.
Stay informed about current sales and promotional offers.
Ensure that both colleagues and customers are safeguarded from any potential risks.
Implement and uphold Dis-Chem’s five-star communication standards.
Manage cash flow responsibly.
Ensure that all line voids and price adjustments receive prior approval and are signed off by a supervisor.
Facilitate merchandise exchanges for customers and accept returns when authorized.
Process all transactions, including receiving and handling payments via cash, bank cards, vouchers, coupons, and other accepted payment methods. Manage all loyalty card transactions, including those from our accelerator partners such as Discovery Health Care, Medihelp Lifestage, Momentum Multiply, Legacy Lifestyle, ABSA Rewards, and eBucks.
Deposit cash into the drop safe in accordance with Dis-Chem’s standard operating procedures.
Ensure that your access code and password are used solely by you, are secure, and are updated regularly.
Confirm that all outgoing stock, items, and scripts are scanned and paid for.
Safeguard all cash securely within the till.
Handle daily financial takings with confidentiality, discussing them only with management.
Remain vigilant, identify, and report any suspicious activities to management.
Address inquiries related to store merchandise.
Follow Dis-Chem’s security policies and procedures.
