JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are currently seeking a skilled Branch Manager to join our team. This role is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and management of a large branch, directly reporting to the General Manager.
The primary objective of the Branch Manager is to ensure smooth and efficient operations by managing daily activities, ensuring all security officers are assigned according to contractual agreements, and adhering to site-specific security requirements. The ideal candidate will prioritize meeting client needs with professionalism and efficiency at all times.
Key Performance Areas for Branch Management
Overall Branch Management
Efficiently manage all aspects of the branch, including operations, financial management, transportation, human resources, industrial relations, ISO standards, client portfolios, contractual agreements, and service level agreements (SLAs).
Leadership of Management Team
Supervise Operations Managers, Site Managers, and Supervisors, ensuring that all client-related issues are addressed promptly and efficiently. Utilize the four fundamental management functions: planning, organizing, leading, and controlling to effectively manage staff.
Client and Internal Communications
Actively participate in daily, weekly, and monthly meetings with clients as required. Attend internal management meetings regularly to stay updated on branch operations.
Staff Development and Assessment
Conduct quarterly appraisals for both operations and administrative staff. Focus on training and development initiatives to enhance staff skills and implement effective succession planning.
Budget Management
Assist with the annual budget preparation and ensure all managers adhere to budget constraints. Maintain rigorous control over assets, fleet, and firearms to ensure operational efficiency.
Staff and Resource Management
Manage staff schedules, duty rosters, and training programs. Ensure compliance with quality management procedures and proper process adherence for purchase or repair quotations.
Compliance and Reporting
Guarantee all operations meet the quality management system standards. Submit comprehensive monthly and quarterly reports to management. Conduct risk assessments on client premises and provide investigative reports as needed.
Client Relationship Management
Ensure all contractual obligations are fulfilled as per client stipulations. Foster strong relationships with clients, maintaining excellent communication regarding the security services provided.
Service Level Evaluation
Consistently evaluate service levels and offer recommendations to clients for improvements. Ensure that security staff consistently meet required performance standards.
Administrative Duties
Handle all necessary administrative tasks promptly and liaise daily on various operational issues to maintain smooth branch operations.

Essential Qualifications and Experience for Senior Security Management Position
- Educational Background: Possession of a Matric Certificate alongside Psira Grade A registration and accreditation is a must.
- Security Industry Experience: A minimum of 10 years in the security sector, with a focus on senior-level management roles overseeing a large security workforce.
- Quality Management Knowledge: Familiarity with ISO 9001:2008 quality standards, ensuring compliance and operational excellence.
- Leadership and People Management: Proven experience in managing teams, with strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Administrative and Communication Skills: Effectiveness in administration tasks, client interaction, and interpersonal communication is crucial.
- Financial Acumen: Experience in financial management and budget oversight for sustained business growth.
- Fleet Management Expertise: Hands-on experience managing a fleet of vehicles for operational efficiency.
- Personal Qualities: Seeking an assertive, goal-driven self-starter with a passion for the security industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs is required.
- Transportation and Licensing: Must own reliable transport and hold a valid Driver’s Licence.
- Background Verification: A clean criminal record is mandatory.
- Proven Track Record: Demonstrable success in past roles is highly valued.
- Firearm Competency: Certified competency in firearm usage is preferred.
