As a Betting Clerk, you will play a key role in branch operations. Your responsibilities will include handling customer bets, boosting stakes, managing cash transactions, processing payouts, ensuring excellent customer service, and adhering to compliance regulations.

What You Bring:

  • 1-2 years of experience in the gaming industry.

Optional but Beneficial:

  • A valid driver’s license
  • A related diploma or degree

Key Responsibilities for Enhancing Brand Success

Branch Growth

  • Timely Updates: Ensure all betting boards are updated promptly to provide accurate information to customers.
  • Information Accuracy: Keep memos, card changes, results, and scratchings up-to-date as they occur throughout the day.
  • Betting Expertise: Maintain comprehensive knowledge of betting rules, odds, and pay-outs to assist customers effectively.
  • Limit Awareness: Understand and adhere to confirmation limits. Always consult the BSC and Events Office before accepting bets that exceed these limits.
  • Large Bet Protocol: Inform Team Leaders or the Betting Manager about any significant bets that do not require additional confirmation.

Sales Administration

  • Cash Handling: Manage cash accurately within the branch, following specified procedures to minimize risks such as theft or fraud.
  • Fraud Prevention: Stay vigilant for any signs of fraudulent activities and report them immediately.

Cash Management

  • Shift Preparation: Ensure the float amounts are correct at the beginning of each shift to facilitate accurate end-of-day balancing.
  • Interim Checks: Conduct periodic checks throughout the day with the team leader on duty to ensure cash management is on track.
  • Shortage Management: Address cash shortages instantly. Any shortages below R250.00 should be reimbursed to the Hollywood account the same day.
  • Record Accuracy: Report all cash shortages and surpluses to the team leader immediately and ensure they are documented accurately in the reconciliation report.

Branch Appearance

  • Maintain Standards: Keep the branch tidy and aligned with Hollywood’s standards for a professional appearance.
  • Workstation Upkeep: Ensure your workstation is clean, organized, and in good working condition.
  • Loss Prevention: Follow all procedures to prevent company losses and promptly report any equipment malfunctions or other issues to your branch or senior team leader.

By fulfilling these responsibilities, team members enhance branch operations, ensure customer satisfaction, and contribute to the overall brand success.

Enhance Customer Service Excellence

To deliver exceptional customer service, always maintain a friendly, helpful, and polite demeanor. Actively address any customer complaints, providing positive resolutions that leave a lasting impression. Focus on building strong relationships with regular customers to enhance loyalty and satisfaction. Adhere to Compliance Standards

Ensure strict adherence to the company’s internal control policies, as well as compliance with the code of ethics. Promptly report any fraudulent activities. All team members must wear the correct Hollywood uniform when on duty. It is strictly prohibited to accept credit bets under any circumstances. When off duty and not in uniform, team members may place bets as customers, but they are not allowed to be behind terminal counters or use the Limited Payout Machine while on duty.
