Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a skilled Cleaner to uphold our high hygienic standards at our Brooklyn Mall location. As a vital team member, you’ll ensure all areas, including the store floor, stock room, dispensary, admin office, and canteen, are spotless and welcoming.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain a clean and tidy environment throughout the store.
• Ensure adherence to Dis-Chem’s sanitation standards.

Minimum Requirements:

• Education: Grade 12 / Matric.
• Experience: At least 6 months’ cleaning experience.
• Skills:
• Proficiency in English.
• Basic customer service abilities.
• Additional language skills specific to the area are a plus.
• Availability: Must be willing to work retail hours.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Bilingual proficiency.
• Prior cleaning experience in a retail setting.

Job Description: Store Cleaner

Responsibilities:

• Maintain High Standards: Ensure exceptional levels of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the entire store, including the shop floor and communal areas, before the store opens.
• Cleaning Routines: Develop and follow routines to maintain all areas of the store to a superior cleanliness standard.
• Canteen and Restrooms: Keep the canteen and restrooms impeccably clean and ensure they are consistently stocked with necessary supplies.
• On-Demand Cleaning: Be available during operational hours to clean as required.
• Appropriate Use of Cleaning Supplies: Use the correct cleaning products and equipment suitable for each task.
• Safety Measures: Always display the “wet floor” sign prominently at both ends of the area when cleaning the floor to ensure safety.
• Customer Interaction: Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor, readily assisting customers as needed.
• Regulatory Compliance: Perform all duties in accordance with Health and Safety Regulations.

• Essential:
• Previous cleaning experience in a retail or similar environment
• Proficient in English (both written and spoken)
• Strong customer service skills
